An 8" Drill Broke in the Part… Can Fast Hole EDM Fix it?

It happened to all of us. You are drilling a deep hole and SNAP, the drill is broken and stuck in there. Can the part be saved?
This is the situation in which Steve Michon from Zero Tolerance LLC found himself as he and his team were machining a part featuring some deep holes. Despite the conservative peck-drilling approach, the drill broke into the hole leaving Steve with a couple of options (besides cussing): scrapping the part and machining a new one or trying to get the drill out of the hole.
As an EDM expert, he opted for the second, hoping that fast-hole EDM would be the ideal solution to solve the issue.
